Westhaven Marina

Auckland, New Zealand

Description

Westhaven Marina in Auckland is a public marina owned by the Auckland Council and features the latest in marina technology. Along with its sister marinas, Viaduct and Silo, they form the largest marina in the southern hemisphere. In 2014 the marina underwent a massive rebuild, installing over 1,710 square metres of new Unifloat concrete pontoons.

The new pontoons use the latest in marina technology, Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) thru-rods with glass filled nylon nuts. The rods offer a much longer life span and reduced maintenance over the lifespan of the pontoons.
